It is with inexpressible grief that we share the news of the passing of James Charles McGuire (Brewster, New York) on February 8, 2021. Jim (aka Chuck) was born in Peekskill, New York on January 18, 1939 to Florence & Thomas McGuire.

Jim was bigger than life itself! He served in the US Navy from 1959-1963, and to anyone who didn't know him might think that he was still in active service the way he spoke of his adventures. His unmatched sense of humor, outrageous jokes have made many a stomach ache. Jim was an avid reader of all things historical, with books upon books filling his home. His debating nature often caused ones head to do cerebral gymnastics! Jim’s never ending thirst for knowledge enhanced his mind and spirit. He was the author of 2 extraordinary books, composed of his stories and poems that brought both joy and tears to his readers.

Jim is survived by his wife Barbara, with whom his soul was intertwined; the type of love reflected through his bright blue eyes and endless devotion. He is the father of 4 wonderful children Tom, Bridget, Kathleen and Kimberly who brought more joy to him than he could have ever imagined. He was blessed with 5 equally beautiful grandchildren Kayla, Richard, Jimmy, Tommy and Lily and one great grandchild Isaias who carry his legacy. He is survived by his sister Eileen M. Dilley.


Jim McGuire was anything but ordinary and will forever be missed.

Due to COVID-19 the service will be private. Condolences may be left for the family at the Beecher Funeral Home website, www.beecherfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or Shriners Hospital for Children.
