<p>Sutherland, George K. 44 year resident of White Bear Lake age 80 Preceded in death by his wife Joan; and brother James Sutherland on September 1, 2007. Graduated from Superior Central High School - 1945. Enlisted in Navy during WWII - 1945. While in Navy, from 13 miles from ground-zero, witnessed test of Atomic bomb at Bikini Island (Operation Crossroads) - 1946. Earned Bachelor's of Science Degree in Math from University of Wisconsin-Superior - 1951. Earned Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University - 1960. Designed control components for Apollo Space projects in the 1960's. Survived by sons Bill and wife Tammy, Dave and wife Mary Beth; granddaughter Susan; grandsons Joshua and Jacob. Memorial service Saturday at 1PM at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2460 East County Road E, WBL.
