Sutherland, George K. 44 year resident of White Bear Lake age 80 Preceded in death by his wife Joan; and brother James Sutherland on September 1, 2007. Graduated from Superior Central High School - 1945. Enlisted in Navy during WWII - 1945. While in Navy, from 13 miles from ground-zero, witnessed test of Atomic bomb at Bikini Island (Operation Crossroads) - 1946. Earned Bachelor's of Science Degree in Math from University of Wisconsin-Superior - 1951. Earned Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University - 1960. Designed control components for Apollo Space projects in the 1960's. Survived by sons Bill and wife Tammy, Dave and wife Mary Beth; granddaughter Susan; grandsons Joshua and Jacob. Memorial service Saturday at 1PM at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2460 East County Road E, WBL. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Boy Scouts of America or American Legion. 651-429-6172
