Mr. Mooney Reed of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, September 23, 2019, at the age of 88. He was born April 1, 1931 at Gamaliel, Arkansas, the son of Lonnie and Ida (Davidson) Reed. Mr. Reed was a retired logger, spending most years of his life working. He enjoyed fishing, but his only true hobby was hard work. Mr. Reed was at his happiest when he was out working. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lou (Mitts) Reed; one son, Billy Wayne Reed; one grandchild, Misty Dawn Reed Lane; four brothers, Harlin Reed, Mitchell Reed, Cole Reed, and Tan Reed; three sisters, Willie Huskey, Nova Kinder, and Georgia Reed; and his parents. Mr. Reed is survived by one son, Jerry Wayne Reed and wife, Ivoughn, of Newport; one daughter, Suzanne Reed Owens and husband, Gary, of Swifton;daughter-in-law, Pat Reed; two grandchildren, Chris Reed and wife, Lynette, of Swifton, and Micheal Reed and wife, Kourtney, of Swifton; several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends. Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday, 10:00 -10:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Swifton Cemetery, with Bro. Billy Ed Morris officiating.
