Anthony Lupo Obituary

Anthony Lupo, 96, fell asleep in the Lord, surrounded by his family, on Russian Orthodox Bright Monday. He was born in Buffalo, but resided most of his life in Auburn. He retired from New Process Gear in 1983. He was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, and served in the New York National Guard. He was a masterful carpenter, living in the home he built, which contains many wooden treasurers that he crafted He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Julia Grega Lupo his daughter Beverly Aversa, and sons Rocco, Anthony and David Lupo, all of Auburn. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, his sister Margaret Caliendo of Florida, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Salvatore, his sisters Mary and Carmella, son-in-law Peter and daughter-in-law Joanne. "Papa" enjoyed Sunday visits with Peter and Jacquelyn Aversa, Julie Aversa and Alexandra Monson, Johanna, David, Dominika, Noah, Nathaniel and Makrina Donch, Melissa, William and Luke Wilczek, Dana Lupo, David, Jamie and Cole James Lupo, and his precious Pretty Girl. "Christos Voskrese"! Services for Mr. Lupo will be 9 A.M. Friday, from the Plis Funeral Home, and 9:30 A.M. In St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Half Acre. Friends are invited to call Thursday, from 4 to 7 P.M. At the funeral home, 220 State St., Auburn.
