It is with great sadness that the family of Kevin John Scully Sr. announces his sudden passing. After his courageous battle with an undiagnosed neurological disease, Kevin died on July 21, 2019 at the age of 69. He left this earth peacefully, in the comfort and privacy of his Assisted Living home, located in Sarasota, FL. Born on February 18, 1950 in Yonkers, NY, Kevin was the second child, and only son of John F. And Muriel (Richey) Scully. He spent his childhood in Cortlandt Manor, NY, excelling at every sport that he played. Baseball and Golf were always his favorite. After graduating from Lakeland High School, Kevin enlisted in the Army National Guard, and was honorably discharged. He was also a proud member of The Local 3 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and retired after over 40 years of employment. Kevin was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Roxanne (Bottos), who died just two months earlier on May 22, 2019. He is survived by his two sons, Kevin (Evanne) Scully Jr. of Sarasota, FL and Ryan (Jackie) Scully of Medford, NJ; sisters Kathlyn (Charles) Bott of Peekskill and Amy (Steve) Thompson of Poughquag, NY; and two grandchildren, Connor (9), and Quinn (8) Scully. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00AM Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Assumption Church followed by an Interment at Assumption Cemetery. While extremely sad, the family is encouraged by the belief that Kevin and Roxanne are reunited once again in God’s Kingdom.
