<p>Dona Mae Smith</p> <br><p> </p> <br><p>Rosman – Dona Mae Smith, 87, of Rosman, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.</p> <br><p> Born December 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Emily Senora Smith of Rosman. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ron Smith, brother, John Smith, aunt, Mae Collins, and nephew, Todd Smith.</p> <br><p> She is survived by one brother, Joe Smith and wife Murle of Brevard; daughter-in-law, Patty Smith of Rosman; three grandchildren, Missy Hendricks and husband Brian, Christy Rice and husband Craig all of Rosman, and Michael Smith and wife Christy of Knightdale, NC; six great grandchildren, James and Ashlei Hendricks, Ashton Smith, Abby, Emma, and Isaac Rice.</p> <br><p> She was a lifelong resident of Transylvania County and retired after 44 years at Olin and Ecusta. She was also a long time member of Midway Bible Baptist Church of Brevard. Dona was always a friend to all that knew her.</p> <br><p> The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 7, 2010 in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Aiken officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Smith, James Hendricks, Craig Rice, Brian Hendricks, Toby Mathis, and Chris Moody.</p> <br><p> The family will receive friends from 7 until 9:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.</p> <br><p> In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Midway Bible Baptist Church Furnishings Fund, 886 Cathey’s Creek Church Rd., Brevard, NC 28712.</p> <br><p> </p>Obituary
