Harold Mitchell

Brevard – Harold Eugene Mitchell, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2016. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Glen Daniel and Evon Anders Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Edwards Mitchell and four children; Carolyn, Audrey, Johnny and Doug Mitchell, brothers; Earl, Billy and Jimmy Mitchell and a sister, Jackie Mitchell Owen. Harold was an avid fisherman and loved fishing on the banks of the French Broad and Davidson Rivers and especially the area of Cantrell Bridge. He enjoyed tap dancing, clogging, blue grass music, fixing fishing poles, telling stories and advising folks how to make cornbread. Harold worked for many years in Homestead, FL for Bob’s Spray Service and worked construction in Western NC. Surviving are his daughters; Susan Burkett and Cherry Narissa Mitchell, grandchildren; Brent, Tessa and Elizabeth Burkett and Alina and Hunter Snopkowski, sisters; Doris Mitchell Wright, Joanne Mitchell Jimenez and June Mitchell Acheson and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Whitmire Cemetery.
