William G. Weatherbee, 62, died peacefully at home on May 19, 2019 after a two year battle with gastric cancer. He was born April 17, 1957 in Norfolk, VA, the son of George Weatherbee and Rita (Yardumian) Weatherbee.

Bill graduated from Orono High School, class of 1975. He went on to attend the University of Maine, graduating in 1979 with a B.S. in Business Administration. On December 31, 1984, he married his wife, Patricia Elsemore, and they have resided in Orono for the past 35 years.

Bill was an avid tennis player, playing for The University of Maine and a long time member of the Armstrong Tennis Center. In 2018, Bill was able to accomplish a life long goal of making it to the US Tennis Association Nationals in California. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, canoeing and snowmobiling with family and friends.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Pat, and his parents, are his son, Craig Weatherbee and wife, Michelle, of Bangor and daughter, Kate (Weatherbee) Jandreau and husband, Adam, of Bangor. Also surviving are his sisters, Linda (Weatherbee) Balek and husband, Doug, of Boxford, MA and Donna (Weatherbee) Terzian and husband, John, of Westwood, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family invites relatives and friends to share in a celebration of Bill’s life with conversation and refreshments on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 4:00-6:00pm at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Steet, Bangor.
