Dave E. Smith Angleton, Texas Obituary

Dave E. Smith

Dave E. Smith, Jr. passed this day on November 17, 2020, with his family around him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Zudie Smith; daughter, Angela Gail White; son, Bruce Smith; brother, Jesse Smith; and grandson Brent Smith. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Ima Jean Smith; daughter, Melody Jacobsen (Raymond); son, Blake Smith (Susan); 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of other family and dear friends. Dave worked for Dow Chemical for 42 years. He was a Deacon and a wonderful man. He taught bible study at 2nd Baptist and 1st Baptist Church. Dave loved the lord and read through the bible every year. More importantly, he lived what he read. He was a wonderful father, son, husband, and friend. Dave was a gentle person and treated people like he wanted to be treated. What we leave behind us when we pass this world is what others think of us. So often we had the pleasure of others complimenting him and telling me (his wife) what a nice man he was. 70 years of marriage should be a testimony to the kind of person he was. Our life has been blessed with so many good friends and family. Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Pallbearers will be: Raymond Jacobsen, Ethan Jacobsen, Ryan Smith, Trevor Smith, Ron Martindale, Quincy Martindale, and Austin Martindale. A visitation and funeral service for Dave will take place at Palms Funeral Home, on Saturday, November 21, 2020. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am and continue until service time at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Angleton Cemetery.
