He was preceded in death by his father William Baxter and uncle Milton Montgomery.

Buddy resided in Columbus, OH his entire life. Buddy was a fun, lovable and outgoing person. He attended Columbus Public Schools and received his G.E.D. Buddy, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior in 2001, and was a member of the Guiding Light Christian Center under Reverend Bill Parker. Buddy was a family oriented person, as he would say "there is no family like our family." He enjoyed playing football, basketball and curb ball. Being the only boy in the family he often had to make his voice heard. With Buddy, there was no middle ground with him, you got what you got – but he was never walked around sad or depressed. His favorite pastime was eating, especially at Thanksgiving devouring two to three plates of food. He was also known to come in any house saying, "What you cook?"
Buddy will be missed and loved by a great many people far and wide, he leaves behind to cherish his memory Mitchell Anderson, Barbara Johnson, Angela McKinney, Paulette Russell, Derrick Russell, Tyrone Stevens, honorary mom Delores Anderson. Special friends Nicole Caldwell, Rhonda Maynard, Shaenay Allan, Shirley Walton, Tracy Crawley. Close friends Rick Marshall, Shawn Bryson, Demetruis “Meechie” Garland, Henry Butcher, Jarvis Carter, Mark McGowan and Jerome Peterson. Favorite nephew and friend Billy Martin, and all his friends from the Main St area, as well as, 18th and Livingston.
