CORDELE — Richard Lee Cook, 82, of Cordele passed away Saturday, November 7th, 2020. A visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Lee will be cremated per his wishes and a small service will be reserved for family and friends only at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, in consideration of COVID 19 restrictions. Lee was preceded in death by his father, Wiley H. Cook, Sr, mother, Jewel Lynn Cook, brothers, Thomas Cook and Henry Cook, and sister, Rosa Mae Cook Sims. He is survived by brother Wiley Cook, Jr., and sons Jeffrey (Debbie), Phillip, and Charlie (Karen), and grandchildren, Holly, Katherine, Addie, Ben, Sarah and Zach. He was a graduate of East Crisp High School where basketball and baseball were major sports in which he participated. He was a veteran of the Air Force, and the Georgia National Guard, and retired from the Crisp County Ambulance Service. He loved fishing, and sitting and talking with his friends around town and the country-side, and feeding the deer that came around his house near the river.
