Roger L. Messner, 68, Antis Township died unexpectedly Monday evening January 21, 2019 at UPMC Altoona. He was born November 3, 1950 in Altoona, a son of the late Robert W. and Vivian E. (Fisher) Messner. On May 22, 1971, he married Jeneane L. Gingery in Winchester, Va. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Kim Whitcomb of Tyrone, Tina Messner of Apollo and Natalie Neff and her husband, John of Altoona; a son Roger L., Jr. of Antis Township; eleven grandchildren, Jenna, Jordyn, Jack, Jameson, Aaleah, Candyce, Freddy, Logan, Kelsey, Tommy and Jacey; three great-grandchildren, Nyle, Mikaila, and Gauge; two brothers, Dennis W. (Barbara) of Antis Township and Mack W. of Duncansville; and his faithful dog, Jude. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Cheryl; and a brother, Robert E. He was a 1968 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. Roger owned and operated Messner’s Garage, Bellwood since 1984. He was a member of Logan Valley Presbyterian Church, Bellwood and the Tyrone Elks #212. He enjoyed watching sports and lending a helping hand to his children when needed. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren by whom he will be deeply missed. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 pm Friday, January 25, 2019 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the funeral home, Pastor Jerry Sneath, officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
