Richard "Rick" Gouveia, 76, of Albrightsville, passed away on Tuesday, August 8 in his home. He was the husband of Jacqueline "Jacqui" (Carr) Gouveia. They celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary in December of last year. Born in Oakland, CA, he was the son of the late Alfred Gouveia and the late Norma (Bianchi) Tarasewich. Rick worked as a transportation supervisor at various companies for many years in California before retiring in 2004. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Mortelliti and husband Jack of Hummelstown, PA; a son, Rick Gouveia and wife Trisha of Morgan Hill, CA; a brother, Fred Gouveia and wife Connie of Brentwood, CA; three step children, Daphne DeCoster of Ireland, Colleen Fischvogt of Indiana, Jessy Foley of Allentown, PA; ten grandchildren, Ashley, Megan, Rachel, Dylan, Armen, Roman, Lily, Davy, Colin, and Gwen. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Calhoun and by his step-father, Terry Tarasewich who was like a father to him. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 26 at Foley's House, 6090 Clubhouse Lane, Allentown, PA. Cremation will have taken place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Third Street Alliance, 41 North Third Street, Easton, PA 18042.
