Loyd Fye

Loyd W. Fye, 73, of Moshannon, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on August 20, 1943, in Moshannon, he was the son of the late Blanchard W. and Anna M. Schall Fye. Loyd was of the Methodist faith. He was a 1961 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He was employed in the Stock Control Area of Cerro Brass, retiring after many years of service. Loyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard, and going to camp. He was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasure in life. Loyd is survived by his sister, Judy Fitzgerald and her husband, Ken, of Bellefonte, a brother, Robert Fye and his wife, Sharon, of Moshannon, brother in-law, James Williams of Julian, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Loyd was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Williams and Joy Rees, and two brothers; Donald Fye and Ray Fye. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 11-12 noon at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 12 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Catherine W. Dittman officiating. Burial will be at Askey Cemetery in Snow Shoe Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the Snow Shoe Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 95, Snow Shoe, PA 16874 or the Snow Shoe EMS, PO Box 271, Snow Shoe, PA 16874.
