Manuel Silvia

Manuel Silvia, 89, of Tiverton passed away on March 7, 2020, after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Patricia (Swierzcek) Silvia, daughter Alice Strebel and her husband Lou of Tiverton, and daughter Dorothy Ray of Des Moines, IA. He leaves grandchildren Louis, Bonnie, Stephanie and her husband Zack, Richard and his wife Malasia, and Christopher and his wife Joy. Manuel had 7 great-grandchildren Alysa, Amber, Megan, Jacob, Nicholas, Isaac, and Liliana. He also leaves behind two sisters, Alice Mello of San Jose, CA and Theresa DaSilva of Oakland, CA, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Manuel was predeceased by his parents John and Maria and grandson, Jonathan Manuel was born in Fall River, MA before moving to Tiverton, RI. He spent his career as a union carpenter and worked on building many of the bridges in Fall River. He was also a talented mechanic who enjoyed restoring classic cars in his free time. Manuel was a member of the Buick Club of America and enjoyed attending car shows and displaying his 1932 Buick. He was happiest when spending time with his wife and his cat, Ivan, and scratching a winning lottery ticket. Burial will be private.
