Blacksburg -- Gary Gene Patterson, 77, of 962 Batchelor Drive, passed away Saturday, February 20th, 2016, at McCall Hospice House of Greenville County in Simpsonville, SC. Born in Blacksburg, he was the son of the late Richard Bryant Patterson and Gertrude Wisher Patterson. Mr. Patterson retired from Hoechst Celanese and was a member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church. He was a 1956 graduate of Blacksburg, High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Patterson is survived by two nephews, Chris Patterson of Blacksburg and Brandon Fowler of Gaffney and two nieces, Paige Dixon of Spartanburg and Stephanie Martin of Gaffney. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Patterson, and two sisters, Linda P. Fowler and Patsy P. Greene. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016, at 1:00 at Clingman Memorial Gardens 1219 East Cherokee Street Blacksburg, SC 29702. with Rev. Tim Knotts officiating.
