Erika Katharina Mitchell, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. Erika entered into this life on May 12, 1934 in Zwiesel, Germany, daughter to Franz and Katharina Demert Hobelsberger. She was married to the late William D. Mitchell, Jr. and together they operated Mitchell Insurance Agency. She was a Gold Star wife, a member of M.O.A.A., and a member of the Wednesday Bible Study group at the First Presbyterian Church, Clarksville, where she held membership. Erika enjoyed sewing and knitting in her spare time. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Howard and Karin Hamilton and husband Jim; and daughter by marriage, Diana Evetts. She was the grandmother of eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
