Martha Peay Evans passed away on June 23,2010. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Tennessee with Rev. Carson L. Salyer officiating. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Evans and her husband Ross, resided in Naples, Florida. She previously resided in Clarksville and Nashville. She was born Martha Katherine Orgain on January 21, 1908 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Orgain and Annie Lyle Orgain; her first husband, Austin Peay V, and second husband, Ross I. Evans. She was also predeceased by brothers, William and Harry Orgain; sisters, Mabel Manning, Lucy Manning, Ethel Mills, Jessie Orgain, Angie Naylor, and Sara Morrow. She is survived by two sons, Austin Peay VI (Betty) and John H. Peay; a stepson, Ross I. Evans Jr. (Pat); eight grandchildren, Austin Peay VII, Marty Shaw (Grant), John H. Peay, Jr. (Jane), Frank A. Peay (Vianne), R. Evans Peay (Lori), Elizabeth E. Shell (Tommy), Ross I. Evans III (Nan), Lee Evans; and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs. Evans was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Women' College. In the last few years of her 102 years she received loving care from Beverly Green, Cheryl Maney, Shirley Presley, Mona Tate, and Latonya Kirkpatrick. Also, a special thanks to Malissa Womack. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor' choice.
