Graveside service for Charles W. “Charlie” Carlock, 72, of Long Pine, NE will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home. Charles W. “Charlie” Carlock passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 in Nebraska. He was born January 10, 1942 in Cleburne to John Wesley “Wes” and Marian Lou Hibbitt Carlock. Charlie served in the United States Army. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Cleburne, the Alaskan Railroad in Alaska and the Union Pacific Railroad in Ft. Worth. He enjoyed piddling in the garage. He was a devoted democrat who loved a great political debate and was known as being quite a character. He left a mark wherever he went and enjoyed traveling the highways before settling in Nebraska, where he wasn’t fenced in. His strong will and independent spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his children, Lisa Jones, John Carlock and wife Heather, and Emily Graham and husband Troy; seven grandchildren, Brittany, Bethany, Macy, Zak, Katy, Cade and Kendall; brother, Joe Carlock and wife Jan; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Joan Hudson Hathcox.
