Joe Smith

Graveside service with military honors for Joe W. Smith, 96, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. The Reverend Donna Ware will officiate. Joe W. Smith passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 in Cleburne. He was born April 16, 1919 in Cleburne to Patrick and Mary Peterson Smith. He married Harriett Frances Boulware on October 9, 1938 and she preceded him in death on August 5, 2003. Mr. Smith served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked as an inspector at General Dymanics, retiring with 40 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church. Survivors include his son, David Smith and wife Charlotte of Keene; daughter, Judith Hernandez and husband Edward of Dallas; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Tommie Smith of Keene. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Vida and Juanita; and brothers, Pete, John Henry, and Walter.
