Irene Free, age 90, of Earth, Texas died on Friday, July 19, 2019 in Muleshoe, Texas. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. She was born December 4, 1928 in Plainview, Texas to Ben and Lottie (Hardberger) Orteg. She was married to Ted Haberer and following his death, she married Buddy Free in Earth, Texas in 1982. Irene was a homemaker and an avid reader. She loved cooking and baking and enjoyed doing needle point. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Earth. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ted Haberer in 1980; her second husband, Buddy Free in 1985; her parents, Ben and Lottie; her sister Marie; and one son, Don Haberer. Irene is survived by her son, John Haberer; of Earth, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Sue Haberer of Prosper, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Linda Haberer of Odessa, Texas; four grandchildren, Jaime Snodgrass, Steve Haberer, Staci Adams and Chris Haberer; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
