Helene Levering, 64, of Vineland, NJ, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she lived in Ocean City, Upper Twp. and Absecon, before moving to Vineland a short time ago. Ms. Levering was an operator, working with Atlantis Casino in Atlantic City for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and painting figurines as well as playing games, especially cards. Her family and friends will miss her and remember her as a strong, caring and loving person. She enjoyed surrounding herself with her family and spending time with them. She is predeceased by her son, Harry Mertz; her brothers, Harry Levering and Joseph Levering; and her sister, Diane Rainer. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Robin A. and William Gerber; her sister, Katie Tucker; her grandchildren, Ryan Gerber, Brandon (Laiza) Gerber, William C. Gerber, Jase and Jada and Katrina Mertz; and her great-grandson, Landon Gerber. Visitation will be 11AM to 12PM, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow immediately at 12PM. Burial will follow at Germania Cemetery, Galloway Twp. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ms. Levering’s name may be made to Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19123.
