Dorothy Mae Craig, 93, passed away September 16, 2014 at her home in Mexia. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church with Bro. Brian Hallmark, Bro. Paul Moore and Chaplain Larry Holden officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake Chapel Cemetery in Freestone County. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Dorothy was born June 22, 1921 in Bremond, Texas to Oliver and Lucy Lee Edwards Williams. She was raised in Wortham, Texas by her mother and step-father, Jack Conn. She devoted her life to serving her Lord and caring for her family. She was a longtime active member of the First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father; husband, Roger William Craig, Jr.; sisters, Edna Viola Smart and Jessie Lee Smart; brothers, Garland Smitherman and Billy Ray Conn; step-brothers, Julius, Tommy and Watt Conn; and granddaughter, Lucrectcia Lynnette Caldwell. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Barbara Avants and husband, Melvin of Baytown, Paulette Craig Caldwell of Mexia and Edna Craig Fitzpatrick and husband, David of McGregor; granddaughters, Deborah Cigainero and husband, Gary of Texarkana, Melody Avants of El Paso and Ivy Johnson and husband, Brad of Dallas; grandsons, Cody Avants and wife, Holly of Cove, Justin Craig Fitzpatrick of Austin and Ryan Fitzpatrick and wife, Adrianna of Houston; great-grandchildren, Cade Cigainero and wife Trudy of Frisco, Laykn Cigainero and Jeff Napier of Denton, Shelby Lykins and Colby Skinner of San Angelo, Corey Lykins of San Angelo, Tatum Avants and Kenadie Avants of Cove and Taylor Johnson of Dallas; and great-great-granddaughter, Rylee Clayton of San Angelo. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Cody Avants, Justin Craig Fitzpatrick, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Gary Cigainero, Cade Cigainero, Corey Lykins, Brad Johnson and Jeff Napier. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Tweedle, Mac Tweedle, Danny Tweedle, Howard Tweedle, Jr., Milton Carroll, Johnny Lee Smith and Lillard Clark..
