Larry LaRue

Larry LaRue, 60, of Mexia, went home to Heaven on December 9, 2013. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Larry was born June 22, 1953 in Mexia, Texas to Henry and Virginia LaRue. He was a near lifelong resident of Mexia, graduating from Mexia High School in 1972. Larry was a graduate of TSTC in Waco and a former school board member of Mexia ISD. Some of his favorite past times were team roping, bulldogging and fishing, as well as supporting the students and athletes of Mexia ISD. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Chrisner LaRue. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cleshay LaRue; son, Laramie LaRue; father, Henry LaRue; sister, Elaine Schulte and husband, Bill of Mexia; nephews, Blaine, Bruce and Bill; niece, Belinda; and great-nieces, Brittany, Bethany and Brandie. He is also survived by a special son, Jose “Pepe” Contreras.
