David Bruns

David Bruns Burlington David Bruns, 52, passed away on September 11, 2010 at the home of his sister in South Burlington, Vermont, after a 17 month battle with cancer. His family was with him when he died. David was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 28, 1958, the first child of Leonard and Joan Bruns. He grew up in Natick, Mass., and upon graduation from high school, attended the University of Maine at Orono for two years. Most of his working life was spent in the computer and technical support fields. He moved to Vermont in April of 2009. He was unmarried, but took great joy with his nieces, Grace, 16, and Zoe, 10, and his nephew Jacob, 12. The children always loved the arrival of “Uncle Dave” at holiday times. David is survived by his mother, Joan Bruns, sister, Jean Baker and her family of South Burlington, Vermont, as well as his brother Paul Bruns and his family of Johnson, Vermont. He was predeceased by his father in May of 2010. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family is endlessly thankful for the compassion of Dr. Steven Ades, the nurses and staff of the Vermont Cancer Center, as well as Mary, Melanie and Linda and the staff at VNA/Hospice of Chittenden County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA/Hospice, 1110 Prim Rd., Colchester, VT 05446, or to a local food pantry or hospice in your area.
