Services, Saturday July 27, at 2:00 PM, Burial in Stockton Cemetery Visitation, 6-7 PM  Friday at Bland-Brumback Funeral Home Cleva Berneta (King) Sell, 89, Nixa, MO and formerly of Jerico Springs, MO passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at The Maples Health and Rehab Center in Springfield, MO. Cleva was born December 3, 1929 east of Stockton, MO to Howard and Eva (Berry) King. She was a 1947 graduate of Bear Creek High School.  Following graduation, she taught in Cedar County rural schools for three years.  She then attended Draughon Business College in Springfield, MO and was employed by Bell Telephone Company.   She was introduced to Teddy Lee Sell on a blind date and they were later united in marriage on August 18, 1957. They moved to a farm west of Stockton where they raised their family and continued to reside for the next 50 years. They worked as a team on the family farm, raising crops and livestock.  Cleva worked tirelessly and selflessly to provide for her family. She was an excellent seamstress and made all of the outfits for herself and her three daughters as they grew up.  She also raised a large garden, canning and freezing vegetables for the coming year.  A family gathering wasn’t complete without her wonderful coconut cream pies. Cleva was saved on Saturday, September 7, 1946 during a revival at Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church near Bear Creek, MO.  She often relayed to her daughters that she saw the white robe of Jesus and it seemed He had come to sit beside her as she was knelt in prayer. She was baptized into Forest Home Missionary Baptist Church and at the time of her death, was a member of Jerico Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was a quiet person with a deep abiding faith that sustained her until the Lord called her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted on November 11, 2007; her parents; and a brother David King and his wife Kay. She is survived by her loving daughters Diana LaDean Woods and husband David of Nixa, MO; Janet Seagren and husband Dennis of Elkhorn, NE; and Teresa Sell of Nixa, MO; eight grandchildren – Nathaniel Woods and wife Tracie of Salem, MO; Leah Woods of Springfield, MO; Ethan Seagren, Kyle Seagren and wife McKenzie, Austin Seagren and Connor Seagren all of Omaha, NE; Melanie Luper and husband Ben of Springfield, MO; and Kayla McNeely of Springfield, MO; three great-grandchildren Mason, Adley and Logan Woods; brother Theron Ralph King and wife Noble of Stockton, MO; sisters and brothers-in-law Patsy and Gus Rutledge, Dixie and Kenny Selvidge, and Max Sell; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2 pm at Bland-Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton, MO.  Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2019 from 6-7 pm.  Final resting place will be at Stockton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations could be made to the Ted and Cleva Sell Scholarship fund.  The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Maples for their loving care and support during the past year.
