Perry Kinsley

Perry J. Kinsley St. Albans Perry Judson Kinsley, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday December 24, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Cambridge on September 16, 1922, son of the late Perry and Olive (Ryan) Kinsley. He was proud to have served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army. Perry was a graduate of UVM class of 1949. He went on to having a career helping others as a Social Services District Director for the State of Vermont. During this time he started the first food stamp program in Newport as well as the Burlington area. Perry married the former Helen Kelley on September 13, 1947 in Underhill. Together they had 66 wonderful years together raising their family. Perry was interested in the civil war and all historical affairs. He spent years working on the Kinsley genealogy which was his greatest joy. He also loved to cut wood and his woodpiles were a work of art. He was a member of the Mt. Mansfield Lodge #26 F. & A.M. of Jericho for over sixty years. Perry is survived by his loving wife Helen Kinsley of St. Albans; two daughters: Debra Kinsley Kiel and her husband Warren of Westford; Alice Elaine Karren and her husband Victor of Brandon; his brother Harry Kinsley of FL; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Perry is also predeceased by his daughter Jane Ann Reynolds on January 19, 1986, his sister Kathleen Lamphere and his great nephew Ian Lamphere. We wish to thank the visiting nurses and hospice of Franklin County for the many acts of kindness they gave us during Perry’s illness. We also thank Doctor Zsoldos and Judy for his special care and thanks go to our neighbors and friends who helped so much. Very special thanks to our daughters and their families for their help, love, and support. Per Perry’s wishes no public visiting hours will be held. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday January 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of Underhill with Reverend Kevin Goldenbogen officiating. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
