Richard E. Hauth

Richard E. Hauth, of W. Main St., Springville, died Sunday November 10, 2019 in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo at the age of 84. He was born December 8, 1934 in Boston, New York a son of the late Raymond A. and Cathrine (nee Koester) Hauth. He was a graduate of Springville Griffith Institute. He owned and operated Boston Dale Farm in Boston, New York for many years. He was a member of Dairy Lea, Farm Bureau, Upstate Milk Co-op, FFA and sold sweet corn from Funk's Corn Seed. He also had worked in the Garden Section of Lowe's and enjoyed flowers, gardening and agriculture. His wife - Bernadine (nee Palumbo) Hauth whom he married June 21, 1958 in Gowanda, died March 17, 2014. He is survived by a daughter - Cynthia (Bill Goss) Giordano of Springville; a son - Richard C. (Tina) Hauth of Springville; four grandchildren - Frank Giordano, Michael (Adrienne) Giordano, Zachary Hauth, Madison Hauth; three great-granddaughters - Hannah, Isabella and Gianna and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday November 14, 2019 from 3-7 pm at Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville, where funeral services will be held Friday November 15, 2019 at 11 am. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Patchin. Memorials may be made to Springville Griffith Institute, 290 N. Buffalo St., Springville, please specify 'for the FFA program'.
