Rita M. Liamos, age 86, died peacefully on Friday January 27, 2017 after having dinner with her family in Englewood, FL. Rita was born on May 10, 1930 in Nashua, NH to F.E.A. Collins and Marie (Dolan) Collins. A Nashua native, she was educated in Nashua schools and was a 1947 graduate of Nashua High School. Rita married her high school sweetheart, Constantine S. Liamos on December 23, 1951.

Rita was loved by everyone who knew her. She awoke every morning happy to be alive with a smile on her face. She was an accomplished cook, known for many of her delicious Greek dishes and pastries. She loved to attend weddings and family gatherings, which would give her the opportunity to kick up her heels and dance, which would always make her happy. She enjoyed visiting friends be it in Florida, New Hampshire, or Vermont. She spent many summers with her husband at the family camp on Fairfield Pond in Vermont. She was one of those rare individuals who found the good in everyone and gave to those less fortunate than her every day. Rita and Constantine raised their family in Nashua, NH, and Burlington, VT, prior to retiring to Englewood, FL.

Together they had four children: Stephen Liamos and his wife Martha of Nashua, NH, Patricia Pickett and her husband Larry of Englewood, FL, Charles Liamos and his wife Karen of Pleasanton, CA, and Edward Liamos of Colchester, VT. Besides her husband and children, she is also survived by nine grandchildren: Christina, Nicole, Megan, Stephen, Jared, Katelyn, Michael, Emily and Hannah, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Patrick Collins Sr. of Hope RI, a sister –in- law Jane Liamos of Nashua and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rita was predeceased by her brother John and granddaughter Sarah who welcomed her to heaven.

Rest well, mom. We all love you and will miss you very much.

Friends may call at the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Winooski, VT on Thursday February 2nd from 4pm to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St John Vianney Catholic Church on Friday February 3rd at 1pm.
