Peggy Erickson

Peggy Joy Erickson, a lifetime resident of Aberdeen, died a Grays Harbor Health and rehabilitation Center, Aberdeen, Wednesday, December 3, 2014. She was born in Hoquiam October 19, 1931, the daughter of George and Zelma (Barker) Groseclose. She graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1949 where she was a very popular Song Queen and was also the May Queen. After high school she married and had two sons, Mike and Mitchell Stone. For many years she worked for Dr. Jack Nugent as a dental assistant and office manager. Peggy later was married to James Erickson on February 26, 1966. They did a lot of traveling, especially to Palm Springs in the winter for many years Peggy was a loving, caring lady and had many friends. She was an active member of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Jim; a son Mike Stone, Aberdeen; two sisters: Janet (Les) Fisher, Tumwater and Neena (Gary) Stoskopf, Olympia; nieces: Patti (Danny) Kristrom, Hoquiam, Julie (Clyde) Drury, Spanaway, Gretchen (Eric) Hedges, Lake Stevens and Heidi (Kyle) Deskins, Chehalis; and a nephew: Gary Fisher, Rochester. A son, Mitchell Stone, preceded her in death in 1981. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, December 11th, at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, Aberdeen. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. The family suggests memorial may be made to Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 111 E. 4th St., Aberdeen, WA 98520.
