Lavern Lonnie Norton July 12, 1947 – July 19, 2018 Lavern Vern “Jim” Norton , 71, longtime resident of Wenatchee, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Central Washington Hospital. He was born on July 12, 1947, in Wenatchee, WA, to the late Arthur and Helen Norton. He was raised in East Wenatchee,WA, and attended school in Wenatchee and attended Eastmont High School. Following High School, he went to work in the fruit industry and became Orchard Foreman for Naumus Orchards, later working at Chelan Apple before becoming a truck driver for Cascadian Fruit Shippers. In 1965, he was married to Roberta Barker in East Wenatchee, WA. They continued to make their home in East Wenatchee, prior to living in Entiat and Ardenvoir. They later moved to Navare Coulee, before finally returning to Wenatchee where he resided until his passing. He was a former member of the Wenatchee Aerie #204, Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE). He loved spending time with his family, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, and dirt biking. He was a bass guitarist in a family country western band, known as “The Runaways.” He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Ewurs, of Cashmere, WA; son, Bob Norton, of Wenatchee, WA; brother, Richard (Claudia) Norton, of Wenatchee, WA; half-brother, Robert (Lee) Dykes. of Montana; grandchildren, James Berna, of Pullman, WA, and Danny Norton, of Coeur d'Alene, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Darlene Brooks
